PADI Advanced Open Water Diver

395.00

If you're ready for deeper and more exciting dives, then this is your next step.

You don’t have to be an “advanced” diver to do this course, it is aimed at advancing your dive skills, by allowing you try new things underwater on 5 adventure dives, each one concentrating on a new technique such as drysuit or photography or a new dive environment such as boat or wreck.

You also get to experience diving deeper than before, under the guidance of our experienced PADI Instructors. As a PADI Advanced Diver, you will be qualified to a recommended depth of 30 metres.

PADI Advanced Open Water Course FAQs

Yes, if you are already a certified diver either a PADI Open Water diver or equivalent from another agency. You can start soon after qualifying but most people will enjoy the course more and benefit more from it if you have some experience first. Why not come along on some of our club days out or weekends away and enjoy some non-training dives before going for your advanced diver rating.

If you are not already a diver, check our our beginners courses on Start to Dive Occasionally, we meet people who have experience diving but don’t have certification or who haven’t completed their training. if this applies to you, contact us and we’ll explore the options to get you formal dive qualifications.

You start with a scuba review to refresh your dive skills. This is followed by a theory class and possible a further pool session, depending on the adventure dives chosen. The Advanced book covers all the possible training dives but you only will need to read the chapters on the ones you choose. Then you are ready to do your 5 Adventure dives. These must be done over 2 days but they can be scheduled to run over a weekend or on separate days.

The pool and theory training will take 1-2 evenings or afternoons. You then do 5 adventure dives, which must take a minimum of 2 days but could be scheduled over a weekend or on separate days.

If you have limited time or you are not ready to do the deeper dives, you could choose to do the Adventure Diver course first. You will do 3 of the adventure dives on this course and at any stage in the future you can get the Advanced certification by completing the deep adventure dive plus 1 other.

The course fee is €395 and this covers all the tuition you need to learn the skills and knowledge at your own pace. It also includes your manuals and certification with PADI.  You won’t be charged any extra for these essentials nor if you don’t fit into a set course schedule.  We offer flexible training schedules on all our PADI courses.

We also include a scuba review to refresh your skills and knowledge before the course. This is ideal if you haven’t been diving in a while.

You don’t need to buy any scuba diving equipment as use of all equipment is included in the Advanced Diver course

In addition to the basic scuba diving gear, we also include any specialist equipment you need for your adventure dives, such as compass, cameras, lift bags, pony bottles etc.

As a PADI Advanced Diver, your recommended depth limit is 30 m. This opens up many dives beyond the Open Water level, in particular wrecks such as the famous Thislegorm wreck in Egypt, El Faroud in Malta and Zenobia in Cypress.

You will also get to try different types of dives such as wreck or boat and do different things underwater such as take photographs or videos. This could lead you to take your diving in new and exciting ways.
